Flyfishmagazine.com’s Holiday Gift Guide: 2007

FlyFishMagazine.com staffer, Jeff Paisley, is a talented angler who wears a lot of hats around here.  In addition to having sold many of his fellow anglers their first fly rods, he is our resident tail water specialist, Personal Pontoon boat guru, Fly Fishing DIY project guy, and has even lent a helping hand when it came time to repair the Editorial Vehicular Conveyance (our truck).

Jeff is a resident of North Carolina but considers his home water to be the Watauga and South Holston Rivers in Tennessee. He is also just as much at home on Arkansas’ White River.  Jeff’s gift guide picks for 2007 show that he is thinking about casting a fly in some of those chilly tail waters this winter.

Glacier Gloves Windproof Fleece Gloves with Foldback Fingers (For Men and Women)

We all know how hard it can be to tie on those size 22’s when your fingers are frozen solid.  Fishing this time of year calls for warmth and fleece lined Glacier Gloves are the answer.  They are currently available from Sierra Trading Post for the bargain price of $16.97 as long as supplies last.

If you have ever had to pull a shivering fishing buddy out of a tail water after he flipped his personal pontoon boat, then you will understand the importance of keeping a set of dry clothes with you on any float trip.  These dry bags make the perfect stocking stuffer.  Sea to Summit Dry Sacks are available from Cabela’s for $7.99 - $19.99

For the last big gift look to Tibor and their 7.5 ounce Freestone fly reel. These reels come with excellent drag systems and large arbors to help get big fish to hand quickly.

Your man will take you out for a romantic evening if he gets this under the Christmas Tree. The Tibor Freestone is available from Cabela’s for $375.00.
